Choosing polished cobalt rings

The polished finish

A polished surface gives cobalt its most reflective appearance. When handled in person the finish shows clear reflections, similar to other highly polished white metal wedding rings. On curved profiles such as court or comfort fit designs the reflection moves smoothly around the ring, while flatter styles present broader reflective areas across the top of the band.

Because the metal is bright to begin with, the mirror finish emphasises the white tone and makes edges and profile details stand out more clearly. One design introduces a black carbon fibre inlay, which creates a strong contrast against the polished cobalt surface.

Engraving

Engraving is carried out in-house. Dates, initials and short messages are commonly added to wedding rings. The polished interior surface provides a smooth background for engraved text, and darker engraving is normally used for clarity.

Width and sizing

These rings are available in widths from 3mm to 8mm. The range covers narrow bands through to broader wedding ring styles and allows couples to choose matching rings while adjusting the width to suit each wearer.

UK finger sizes are available from stock in sizes J to Z+10 depending on the design. Because wider rings cover more of the finger, they can sometimes feel slightly tighter than a narrow band in the same size. Our Ring Width Guide provides more information. Polished cobalt rings come in court, comfort fit, flat, chamfered and faceted profiles. Each shape changes how the polished surface meets the light and how the ring sits against the finger.
