3mm Wide Rings

3mm rings are the narrowest bands in our range that can still accommodate engraving. At this width the profile remains slim on the finger while still offering a clear, defined ring shape. These rings come in tungsten, cobalt, sterling silver and titanium. Finishes include polished and brushed. Profile options include court, blended court, flat and comfort fit. Because the width is narrow, these rings are well suited to those who prefer a subtle, understated wedding band.

Understanding 3mm wide rings

Materials

Tungsten is a dense carbide metal that produces a solid, weighty feel despite the narrow width. Cobalt has a naturally bright white finish that holds its appearance well. Sterling silver forms a slim precious metal band that has long been used for traditional jewellery. Titanium produces a very light ring on the finger while remaining a strong metal with a high strength-to-weight ratio. For more detail on each metal, our material buyer’s guides cover the key properties and differences.

Ring profiles

Even at this narrow width, several profile shapes are used. Court rings have a rounded outer surface with a curved interior that sits smoothly against the finger. Blended court rings use a similar rounded shape but with softened edges where the profile meets the finger. Flat profiles create a more defined outer edge with a straighter exterior surface. Comfort fit designs use a gently curved inner surface that helps the ring pass more easily over the knuckle. For a full explanation of how these shapes differ, see the Ring Profiles guide.

Engraving

Because the band is slim, engraving requires careful layout. At 3mm this is the narrowest width we engrave, and the available space inside the ring is smaller than on wider bands. We carry out laser engraving in-house so text can be positioned accurately within the interior surface. If engraving is being considered, the Engraving Information page explains the available options and formatting. The Ring Width Guide can also help compare how this width sits alongside wider bands.
