Brushed Cobalt Rings

Brushed cobalt rings have a soft satin surface created by fine directional brushing across the metal. Instead of reflecting light sharply, the texture diffuses it, giving the ring a calmer, slightly darker appearance than a polished finish. When the ring moves on the hand the light spreads evenly across the surface rather than flashing in bright reflections.

Each brushed finish is applied by hand in our workshop. That process produces a consistent grain across the cobalt while still allowing the white tone of the metal to show through. Available in widths from 3mm to 8mm, these rings include several profile styles and suit both men’s and women’s sizes. These matte cobalt rings have a softer satin finish while still showing the bright white colour of cobalt.

Choosing brushed cobalt rings

The brushed finish

A brushed cobalt surface has a fine directional grain that softens the way light sits on the metal. When viewed closely the texture appears as a narrow satin pattern across the ring, which gives the cobalt a more subtle appearance than a mirror finish. Because the surface breaks up reflections, everyday marks tend to blend into the existing grain rather than standing out sharply.

In some designs the brushed centre sits between polished edges. That contrast draws attention to the centre of the ring while the polished edges create a clear boundary line around the band.

Engraving

Engraving is carried out in-house. Wedding rings are often engraved with dates, initials or short messages that mark the occasion.

Width and sizing

Available in widths 3mm to 8mm, these rings cover narrow bands through to broader wedding ring styles and suit both men’s and women’s sizes.

UK finger sizes generally run from J to Z+10 depending on design. Because wider rings cover more of the finger, they can sometimes feel slightly tighter than a narrow band in the same size. Profiles

Brushed cobalt rings come in court, comfort fit, wedding band, ridged and chamfered profiles. The brushed surface interacts with each shape slightly differently. Rounded profiles spread the satin texture smoothly across the ring, while chamfered edges or ridged details interrupt the grain and create subtle changes in the way light moves across the metal.
