About our sterling silver necklaces

Sterling silver

Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver combined with 7.5% other alloys to make it suitable for jewellery. Pure silver on its own is too soft to hold shape in daily wear. UK law sets a hallmarking threshold at 7.78g. Above this, pieces carry a full hallmark confirming silver content and the assay office that tested it. Below this weight, items are stamped 925, which confirms the same standard. Further detail is covered in our Silver Jewellery Guide.

The necklaces

At 5.4g, the Silver 2 Linking Circles Necklace uses a fine trace chain with two linked circles at the centre and a lobster clasp. It adjusts between 15.5 and 17.5 inches.

At 20.8g, the Silver Curb Necklace with Integral Tag uses a solid curb chain with fully soldered links. It fastens with a T-bar and ring at the front, with an oval tag hanging from the end ring. A matching Silver Curb Bracelet with Integral Tag is available.

At just over 40g, the Silver Heart Necklace uses a solid trace chain with a T-bar and ring fastening at the front and a single heart tag. It shares the same heart and fittings as the heavier version but uses a finer chain to reduce overall weight.

At 45.6g, the Silver Double Heart Necklace uses a solid curb chain with a front T-bar and ring fastening. Two hearts hang on drops of different lengths and move freely.

At 61.5g, the Silver Heart Tag Heavy Necklace uses a solid belcher chain with fully soldered links and a front T-bar and ring fastening. It is the original heart design, with the same heart and fittings as the standard version but a much chunkier chain.

Length and fit

Four necklaces are fixed at 18 inches, which typically sits at the collarbone. The Silver 2 Linking Circles Necklace adjusts between 15.5, 16.5 and 17.5 inches, allowing shorter or slightly longer placement.
