The look is deliberately simple but striking. A brushed black body is finished with a single offset stripe of natural grey zirconium that runs around one edge. The polished grey line lifts the matte black surface and gives the ring a sharp two-tone contrast.
The colour is created within the metal, not added on top. Zirconium begins life as a natural silver grey. We heat the outer layer for an extended period until it crystallises into a deep black. The edge is then cut back on a lathe to reveal the natural colour again, forming the bright stripe. There is no plating to rub away, and the black surface is very durable, with hardness close to 9 on the Mohs scale.
At around 2.0mm in depth, the ring has a reassuring feel without being heavy. The inside is smoothly rounded for everyday comfort. Zirconium is hypoallergenic and corrosion resistant, so it is a good choice for sensitive skin and for active lifestyles. A discreet “Zirconium” mark is engraved inside the band as a simple confirmation of the material.
