The 8.7mm wide Black Zirconium Ring with Natural Polished Edges is one of the boldest designs in our zirconium collection. With its extra width, this ring has a strong presence on the hand while still being lightweight and comfortable to wear.
The centre of the band is finished in matt black zirconium, subtly raised above the contrasting polished edges. This raised section gives the ring a striking two-level profile, making the polished silver-grey sides stand out even more against the deep black.
The entire ring is made from zirconium, with no plating or added surface treatments. The black colour is achieved naturally, by heating the zirconium until its surface transforms. Once this layer is formed, a lathe is used to cut back through selected sections to reveal the original silver-grey metal beneath, creating the crisp polished edges.
Zirconium is known for its durability, hardness and resistance to everyday wear. The black finish measures around 9 on the Mohs scale, similar to sapphire, making this ring exceptionally tough while still comfortable. At around 2mm in depth, the band has a smooth rounded interior that ensures it feels easy to wear throughout the day.
Hypoallergenic by nature, zirconium is an excellent choice for anyone with sensitive skin or allergies to traditional jewellery metals. Each ring also carries our discreet “Zirconium” engraving inside the band to confirm authenticity.
