The colour is not achieved through plating. Black zirconium is formed by heating the metal at high temperatures until its outer layer naturally transforms. A lathe is then used to cut away sections of the black, exposing the natural grey beneath. At 8mm wide with a depth of around 2mm, this ring has a flat profile that feels substantial on the hand without being overly heavy.
